A quiet rural atmosphere where homes nestle among native trees on small acreage blocks, rubbing shoulders with farms and cattle properties.

Biggest Morning Tea a Winner

at Bouldy

oval-aus-big-morn-tea-2011-pink (22K)

The Craft Ladies at Bouldercombe hosted a lovely home cooked morning tea on Monday, May 30, at the Bouldercombe Progress Association Complex.

The Morning Tea was well patronised, with over 100 people attending, with one lady coming from as far away as Lowood!

Musical entertainment was provided by the popular Bouldercombe Singers, a doily competition was very well supported, and a craft display and a craft sale table were also popular.

The Multi draw raffle was hugely supported with a tremendous number of donations for prizes.
Ellen Smith was compere and Councillor Sandra O'Brien judged the doily competition.

All proceeds were donated to the cancer fund.

Family History Research Requests

From time to time we get requests from people trying to trace their family history. Below are two such recent requests. If you can assist in any way, would you please contact the relevant people. They would be most grateful.

A Karen Smith is looking for a photo of the Hector Hotel in 1896. This I assume to be the old Hector Hotel which was situated at the Midgee turnoff on the Mt. Morgan road, but burnt down around the turn of the century. Later another Hector Hotel was built at the top of Egan's Hill but was burnt down in the 1959 bushfire.

An ancestor was apparently the Licensee in 1896. If you can help Karen you can contact her at:

Another researcher by the name of Kel Davey was a local resident back in the 1950's I believe. He is currently researching a number of family names, all related through marriages over the years.

They are: Robson, Oberg, Rowley, Young, Fletcher, Passmore, Theile, Richards, Inslay, Stokes and Pershouse.

Anyone who can help Kel can contact him either by phone on 07 54 963 367, by mobile 0403 652 902 or by E-mail:
