Where is Bouldercombe?
Bouldercombe is
situated on the Burnett Highway, 21 klm south west
of Rockhampton and 17 klm north east of Mount Morgan.
Bouldercombe is a friendly, thriving and progressive
community within easy driving of the Beef Capital and the
Capricorn Coast.
Many people are surprised by the large
number of Services within the small community. (See below
under Local Services.)
There are also numerous sporting and recreational activities
catering for all age groups. (See below under Local
Recreation Groups.)
The Progress Association has provided a
large Sport and Recreational Complex Hall that has wheelchair
access, well equipped kitchen facilities for parties etc. and
an amenities block. The Recreational Complex is available of
hire. Photocopying and Laminating Services are also available
at the Complex.
The local Lions Club supports the community in many ways.
Their monthly Market Days in the park have been temporarily
suspended but you can view details and photos from past
Market days on the
Past
Activities page. Check on the News page from time to time
to see latest news on when the Markets are returning.
The Club also helps to keep our town clean and tidy with
regular clean-up days and the mowing of the road edges.
The State Primary School not only educates the younger
members of our community, but also provides a number of
community activities including regular Film Nights. They also
publish the "Bouldy News", a Local Community Newsletter, each
term.
For a small community, Bouldercombe has a lot to
offer.
Back in the late 1800's Bouldercombe was a
bustling mining town and home to about 3,000 residents and 7
hotels. Today it has 1,000 residents and 1 hotel. But it has
many services and recreational groups that are not always
found in smaller communities and offers a relaxed Rural
Residential Lifestyle for all the family. Being just twenty
minutes from Rockhampton means it's close to all the
amenities offered by the Beef Capital and the Capricorn
Coast. Making it a great place to raise a family or for
retirement.
